Eric Swalwell and Brittany Watts: A Glimpse into Their Life Amid Controversy
California Representative Eric Swalwell is facing allegations of sexual misconduct, a serious issue that might overshadow his long public career. Interestingly, his wife, Brittany Watts, has chosen to maintain a degree of privacy throughout this tumultuous time.
Swalwell and Watts, who is 31, became friends in 2015 after Swalwell’s previous marriage ended. A marriage report noted their relationship blossomed after this, and they tied the knot in October 2016 in Oakland, officiated by Nancy E. O’Malley, the former Alameda County District Attorney.
The couple now has three children—Nelson, Cricket, and Hank—and they reside in Livermore, California, an area known for its vineyards.
Watts, while often in the background of her husband’s political life, boasts an impressive career. She graduated from Miami University in Ohio and has over a decade of experience in hospitality. Previously, she held the position of sales manager at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, California, and also worked with Loews Chicago Hotels.
As of now, she has ventured into owning a small business in hospitality, according to Swalwell. It appears she has even stepped back from social media, removing her accounts amidst the ongoing allegations against her husband. Nonetheless, she makes frequent appearances on Swalwell’s social media during family celebrations.
Earlier this year, Swalwell shared a heartfelt message on social media praising Watts as a versatile mother and partner. His words, calling her a “mother and wife who does it all,” speak to the strength of their bond.
Recently, he shared a video of them together on a beach, discussing his campaign for governor and highlighting the support he receives from her. “Great support,” he mentioned, referring to his “wife and best friend.”
In a moment captured on video back in March, Watts described Swalwell as a “really great father” and “really great husband,” emphasizing her family’s unity. Notably, she has remained silent regarding the allegations directed at her husband.
Swalwell, 45, who is recognized as a prominent Democrat in California’s gubernatorial race, released a passionate statement denying the allegations while also apologizing for his “past errors in judgment.” He expressed regret for putting Watts in a difficult position.
The media has reached out to both Swalwell and Watts for further comments on the matter.
