Widow of Trump rally victim gets calls from the president and the Secret Service director.

Corey Comperatore, whose husband was killed during a shooting at a Trump rally, shared that the president reached out to her after seeing an interview on Fox News. He promised to support her in the difficult times ahead.

Helen Comperatore also spoke with Fox News correspondent Alexis McAdams, mentioning that Secret Service director Sean Curran had contacted her. She expressed her heartbreak at the timing of their conversation, just before the first anniversary of the tragic event in Butler, Pennsylvania. Curran assured her he would meet to discuss the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Helen expressed her anger and grief, saying, “Our blood is in their hands. I’ve lost the love of my life. They’ve been ruined,” while demanding accountability from the Secret Service.

The Secret Service has acknowledged several failures that occurred after a 20-year-old gunman, Tohmask Look, fired eight rounds from the roof, killing Comperatore—who was a volunteer firefighter—and injuring three others, including former President Donald Trump.

She raised questions about the lack of security measures in Butler, asking, “Why did they fail so much? Why didn’t they pay attention?” Helen emphasized that she wants to have an open conversation with them regarding these failures.

During her call with Curran, Helen apologized for not receiving updates in the past, noting that things have changed with him now in charge of the Secret Service. He committed to answering all her questions about the July 13, 2024, shooting.

In her interaction with Trump, he acknowledged the connection forever forged among families affected by that day’s events. He also mentioned that a comprehensive report about the assassination attempt would be forthcoming, although the release date remains uncertain.

Six Secret Service agents were recently suspended without pay due to the mishandling linked to the incident, according to agency confirmation.
