Vice President Kamala Harris’ “dangerously extreme immigration policies” have led to “the greatest invasion in history,” former President Donald Trump said at a press conference on Tuesday, warning that the situation would be “exponentially worse” if Harris became president, specifically highlighting Harris’s abysmal record as “border secretary.”
President Trump, who participated in the call with Brandon Judd, former chairman of the National Border Patrol Council, and current council president Paul Perez, began his remarks by noting that Harris had been nominated to be “Secretary for Border Affairs” in 2021.
“And since that time, millions of illegal immigrants have entered our country and countless Americans have been killed in immigration crimes because she willfully destroyed America’s borders and laws,” Trump said, explaining that Harris works with Biden to support far-left immigration policies, such as adopting capture and release policies, ending deportations and ending Remain in Mexico.
President Trump highlighted the progress his administration has made in building hundreds of miles of wall, progress that has been thwarted by the Biden-Harris administration.
“That’s when we realized they really wanted an open border. Nobody could believe it,” Trump said, also slamming dozens of executive orders issued since he left office that opened America’s borders to the world.
“Then they issued these executive orders and nobody believed them. As a result of our dangerously extreme immigration policies, the greatest invasion in history is now happening on our southern border and it’s getting worse, not better,” Trump said, referring to Democrats’ attempted “Band-Aid” fix to the issue a few weeks ago.
“But that Band-Aid solution has not worked at all; it’s actually making the situation worse,” he said, citing reports last month that more than 50 radical Islamic terrorists had crossed the border and were hiding out in the US interior.
“Kamala and Joe Biden know nothing about them, where they are, who they are, and I don’t think they care. It’s been reported that during her term as vice president and border chief, Kamala has never spoken to the head of Border Patrol,” he said, slamming Harris for only visiting the border once and being “far from the epicenter of the invasion.”
“You can’t even call it a visit. She went to a place where there was no problem and she was there for a very short period of time. So essentially, she has never visited the border as we know it,” he said, blasting her record as a senator from California, where she said she led a “campaign” to dismantle US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“She has compared our patriotic ICE officers to members of the KKK; implying that they are members of the KKK. She supports complete decriminalization of illegal border crossings and making illegal immigration the equivalent of a parking ticket. She is in favor of providing free taxpayer funded health care to illegal immigrants, but not our soldiers and citizens who have served our country so gloriously and bravely but live on the streets,” he continued, slamming Harris for also supporting “mass amnesty and citizenship for all illegal immigrants.”
Trump noted that Harris’ position would “eliminate” Medicare and Social Security for elderly Americans, and reminded Americans that Harris also supports “deadly sanctuary cities that protect legal alien criminals, murderers and gang members from deportation and arrest.”
Trump also slammed Harris’ record as a prosecutor, finding her to be a “soft on crime prosecutor in the sanctuary jurisdictions of San Francisco” and citing people who say the area is no longer a good place to live — a situation he said began when Harris was district attorney.
“If Kamala Harris becomes president, the invasion will get exponentially worse, and our entire country will be destroyed forever, like they did in San Francisco, like they did on the border,” Trump continued, vowing to “end any open border policy under the Biden-Harris Administration,” and promising to close the border as a “day one” action.
