A Milwaukee man is facing child abuse charges after a baby was found with severe injuries that authorities say were caused by an iPad.
Stephen Nichols, 19, was charged by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office with one count of child abuse and one count of child neglect.
According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, the child’s mother noticed her son’s injuries on March 11 and left him with Nichols over the weekend. He was with Nichols from March 8th to March 10th.
When the baby was brought home, the mother noticed that the baby was “groggy,” constipated, and having trouble sleeping.

When the mother noticed bruises on her child and asked Nichols about the injuries, Nichols claimed that the iPad had accidentally hit the child.
“What Nichols was telling us was that [her] His iPad, which he had propped up against a container of baby formula, fell off. [the child]” the document read.
The baby boy, born on February 3 this year, was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital by his mother.
Hospital staff determined the boy suffered “bilateral skull fractures and significant brain damage.” [and a] Both left and right femur fractures. ”

He also suffered broken ribs, burns to his buttocks, and a spinal bleed. Bruises were also found on the child’s abdomen, left inner thigh, groin, eye and forehead.
“We advised the doctors that the iPad did not cause all of these injuries,” court documents state.

“These injuries were determined to not be accidentally caused by medical staff based on the nature, number, and location of the wounds.”
During interrogation, Nichols reportedly told police that it was “not fair” that he had harmed her own child, but he still denied the charges.
