Wisconsin local news crew captures driver crash into parked van, injuring 57-year-old man in hit-and-run

Reporters in Wisconsin captured the dramatic moment a reckless driver crashed into a parked minivan, abandoning his teenage accomplice and injuring a man sitting inside the vehicle.

Local Milwaukee media outlet TMJ4 reported on Sunday’s fatal shooting on the city’s south side. A speeding gray sedan crashed directly into a parked minivan to avoid oncoming traffic. Video Programs.

The driver, whose age was not disclosed, opened the door and sped off down the street as the passenger crawled out of the mangled car.

He pleaded with reporters and witnesses standing a few feet away to “call 911” as a good Samaritan ran to his assistant.

Police told the publication that the minivan struck with such force that it plowed into an unmarked Milwaukee Police Department patrol car parked behind it.

The driver covered his face with a hooded sweatshirt and circled back to the sedan to check on his friend, but then fled the scene.

Police said the vehicle had been recently stolen at the time of the crash.

A 57-year-old man in the minivan was taken to hospital, according to the media.

It was confirmed that the passenger in the stolen vehicle was a 16-year-old boy who was also hospitalized.

Police have arrested the juvenile and criminal charges are expected to be laid while the driver remains at large.

Mariam Makkah, a witness who was interviewed by WTMJ about the shooting during the hit-and-run incident, told the outlet on Monday, “I’ve never seen anything like that before.”

“That car could have killed somebody. The car went into the lawn and there were children on the lawn,” she told the outlet.

Police arrested the boy and the driver, who remains at large, is expected to face criminal charges. TMJ4

Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said the community needs to continue shining a light on the problem of car theft and reckless driving and “stop” it from continuing.

“The passenger in the video you showed me couldn’t even stand up, couldn’t even move,” a bewildered Johnson said.

“He was trying to get out of the car and collapsed. I don’t want this to happen to my children or my loved ones. Let’s talk and put an end to this situation.”
