Wedding Shooting in New Hampshire
At a wedding held at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, chaos erupted on Saturday when a shooter opened fire, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. An eyewitness recounted hearing the shooter shout “Free Palestine” amidst the panic.
Tom Bartelson from Pepperrell, Massachusetts, who attended the wedding, explained that the atmosphere shifted drastically before the incident. He mentioned there had been some discussion about ensuring children were safe prior to the shooting. “When we all gathered for the bride and groom’s dance, the tension seemed to disappear,” he recalled. However, everything changed when six shots rang out. “We dove for cover, and suddenly we were scrambling to find safe spots,” he added.
The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office has named the suspect as 23-year-old Hunternadeau. He is charged with the murder of 59-year-old Steven Decesare, though authorities confirmed there was no known relationship between them.
Nadeau is also accused of injuring two other adults during the incident. As of now, there have been no updates on the severity of their injuries. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene without further incident.
The Attorney General has stated that Nadeau faces second-degree murder charges for the intentional shooting. Furthermore, additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation unfolds, particularly concerning the other victims.
Peter Hinckley, a senior assistant attorney general in New Hampshire, mentioned that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts focused on uncovering the motives behind the shooting. Nadeau is set to appear in court on Monday. It’s a tragic situation that leaves many questions unanswered.
