Indiana Woman Charged with Threatening President Trump

A 50-year-old woman from Indiana has been charged with making threats against President Donald Trump via social media, as reported by U.S. lawyer Janine Ferris Piro.

Natalie Rose Jones, hailing from Lafayette, Indiana, is facing accusations of threatening the life of the president through interstate communications. The charges are serious, involving threats that could lead to injury or kidnapping.

“Threatening a president’s life is one of the most serious crimes, and we will pursue prosecution with great vigor. It’s crucial to understand that justice will be served,” Piro stated, expressing gratitude toward law enforcement partners, particularly the Secret Service.

According to the Department of Justice, a Secret Service agent noticed Jones’ account, “nath.Jones,” because of her violent and threatening posts regarding Trump. These posts were made between August 2nd and 9th, where Jones labeled Trump a terrorist and claimed his administration was dictatorial, blaming it for unnecessary loss of life during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Threatening remarks escalated from August 6th to 15th, with Jones reportedly stating her willingness to harm the president violently, even describing graphic intentions related to his death.

On August 14th, she directed a message at Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, announcing plans for an “arrest and removal ceremony” for Trump, whom she continued to call a terrorist.

In discussions with Secret Service agents, Jones seemed to indicate she might have access to sharp objects and implied she would take the president’s life if given the chance, referencing a desire to avenge pandemic-related deaths.

On August 16, 2025, she participated in a protest march towards the White House, where she reportedly reiterated her threats but denied any intent to harm Trump. Following the protest, she was arrested and admitted that the threatening posts were indeed from her account.

Jones is expected to appear before a federal magistrate judge, where she will face the charges formally and be asked to enter a plea. The investigation is led by the U.S. Secret Service and the case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Josh Sutter.
