A massive 45-foot sculpture of a naked woman, which has been a highlight along San Francisco’s waterfront, is now available for sale or lease. But interested buyers will need a hefty budget to make it theirs.

The artwork, originally called “R-Evolution” and recently renamed “I Am,” has drawn considerable attention while stationed at Embarcadero Plaza, according to its creator, Marco Cochran.

While we know it’s priced around £13,000, the full asking price hasn’t been revealed. However, experts anticipate it could reach six figures, given that the installation alone cost about $300,000.

This striking figure was inspired by California dancer and singer Dejah Solis.

Cochran indicated that he welcomes inquiries from potential buyers who might be interested in acquiring this eye-catching landmark.

“In this piece, the model Dejah Thoris reflects on what it means to be a fully human woman, expressing her energy in a quiet world,” he explained.

It’s important to note that the statue is slated for dismantling and set to leave San Francisco in October.

This giant figure is also known for its unique “breathing” feature, where its metal torso expands and contracts daily. Additionally, it lights up twice each day.

A spokesperson from Building 180, which collaborates with Cochran, mentioned that they believe significant public artworks should find permanent homes rather than return to storage. They emphasized the importance of supporting living artists whose creations enrich our communities.

The statue initially formed part of a privately funded initiative called Big Art Loop, which aims to introduce 100 large temporary sculptures in public spaces across San Francisco over the coming years.

Anyone looking to purchase and install this giant must be prepared to assemble its seven sections, which will require a crane and forklift to bolt them together.
