Woman intentionally drives into and injures security guard at Florida resort after she won't show ID, according to police.

Incident at Florida Resort Involving Wisconsin Woman

A woman from Wisconsin, staying at an Airbnb in Florida, reportedly injured a security guard at a resort after he asked to see her identification. This incident took place at the Windsor Island Resort in Davenport, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 4 around 9 p.m., the guard, who was working at the entrance, signaled for help after the confrontation. The woman, driving a gray Chrysler Pacifica, attempted to enter the property but was informed she needed to either be on an authorized visitor list or present identification.

To which, she allegedly responded with a question like, “What if I just drive through?” The guard advised against it. Nonetheless, she sped through the entry and headed onto Lana Street.

The security guard reiterated the request for her ID and registration of her vehicle. The woman, however, dismissed his request as “too much,” claiming she was a guest at the resort.

As the officer approached the police car, she provocatively asked, “Do you want to get hit?” Following that, she drove her vehicle into the guard, pinning him between her car and the police cruiser. Although he sustained injuries, they weren’t serious, and she fled the scene quickly.

Authorities later identified the suspect as Tyquanna Butler, 32, from Green Bay, Wisconsin. Detectives confirmed she was staying at the resort until July 6. Following the incident, warrants were issued for her arrest for felonious assault, including with a deadly weapon. A background check revealed past arrests in Wisconsin for disorderly conduct and domestic violence.

Butler was apprehended at the Orlando International Airport, where she had a flight scheduled back to Wisconsin. By that time, she was in custody, with a bail set at $25,000 for the felony charges.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd commented, emphasizing that everyone must follow the rules and laws, stating, “All this woman had to do was show her ID and register her car at the resort. Now, she’s facing serious charges.”
