Worker at Hilton hotel shares anti-ICE video online and faces repercussions, saying losing job doesn't matter

Hilton Hotel Employee’s Anti-ICE Video Leads to Job Loss

A Hilton Hotel Anatole employee in Dallas, known as Gia, faced immediate consequences for posting an anti-ICE video on social media.

In her recording, she roamed the hotel, cautioning guests about the presence of Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at the venue. “I care more about your family and unity,” she urged. “So please alert your family.” Gia’s message included a direct appeal to anyone concerned about their immigration status.

While in her video she expressed indifference toward the possibility of losing her job, saying, “I honestly don’t care… because I care more about your family.” This sentiment has resonated with many viewers.

The video quickly gained traction online, eliciting widespread criticism of the hotel. In response, a Hilton Anatole spokesperson confirmed via email that the individual was let go, although they clarified that she wasn’t directly employed by the Hilton.

“We are aware of a video shared on social media by an individual who is not a Hilton employee,” the spokesperson stated. They respect guest privacy and mentioned contact with the third-party parking company where the individual was employed.

This incident mirrors earlier controversies, like when a Hampton Inn by Hilton canceled reservations for ICE agents, prompting a strong reaction from the Department of Homeland Security.

In another related case, Hilton addressed the backlash by stating that a Minneapolis-area hotel had apologized and affirmed adherence to company policies regarding DHS bookings. However, after evidence surfaced that the hotel had not modified its approach, it was removed from Hilton’s reservation system.

Hilton affirmed its commitment to inclusivity, saying, “Hilton has always been, and always will be, a place where everyone is welcome.” The company is working with franchisees to ensure standards are upheld across its network.
