You won’t believe what happened to Joe Exotic’s tigers …

For those who need a quick review: Joseph Maldonado (aka Joe Exotic) became a national sense in 2020 when the documentary “Tiger King” surged to the top of the Netflix charts. As an eccentric dressing, a gay polygamy and an exotic cat owner, he has a noble political aspiration that makes it no wonder that no one could stop talking about him.

But Joe Exotic’s name fell from public consciousness when he went to prison for a murder targeting his big cat nemesis, Carol Baskin. Today he remains in the prison where he was sentenced to 21 years in prison after being convicted of 21 counts, including employment in a 21-year murder, eight counts of violating the Lacey Act for forged wildlife records, and nine counts of violating the Endangered Species Act.

Since his arrest, exotic names have emerged everywhere. However, his name has appeared again, this time for a story involving another big cat lover who allegedly bought six of the exotic tigers after his arrest.

On April 2nd, Carl Mitchell, a 71-year-old exotic animal handler with a history of legal issues, seized seven tigers from his Nevada home because he lacked the necessary permissions to keep exotic animals. Mitchell claimed that the Tigers were “emotional support animals” for his PTSD.

Rick Burgess from “The Rick Burgess Show” discusses this strange story.

“They relieve his stress – seven tigers!” says Burgess, distrustful. “This thing about animals (these therapies) is out of control.”

Greg Burgess agrees by adding, “I’ll give you dogs, cats, maybe rabbits, but once you get to a peacock or something…”

The panel wonders what will happen if any of these tigers are loose and roamed around the surrounding community. The idea is not overstated considering that the sheriff’s office closest to Mitchell’s property received several reports that it saw “loose around the property” and “outside the property.” In addition to that, Mitchell had posted social media videos showing his Tiger interacting with random people.

He may argue that his tigers will “save him” from PTSD, but Greg says these animals probably “plead to be rescued.”

Listen to the details of the conversation, watch footage of Mitchell and explain his emotional dependence on the Tigers. See the clip above.
