An unsettling incident occurred recently in Kentucky, where a 13-year-old boy faces charges after being caught on camera groping an elderly woman at her doorstep.
The disturbing footage shows the boy approaching 78-year-old Jan Fletcher outside her home in Louisville on August 26. The video reveals him walking behind Fletcher, pretending to brush something off her back before making inappropriate contact.
“This was shocking,” Fletcher shared, her reaction still vivid to local news.
After recounting the incident, she expressed her desire to confront the boy, wondering aloud, “Why did he do this?”
Fletcher expressed a mix of frustration and concern, stating, “I really hate these young people doing something like this. It’s sad. What do they gain from such actions?”
The boy, whose identity remains undisclosed due to his age, has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse. Police clarified that he does not reside in the same neighborhood as Fletcher.
According to police reports, in the moments leading up to the incident, the boy had approached Fletcher asking for directions to a nearby park before committing the offense.
“Thanks to the diligent work of the detectives from the 7th Division, we were able to announce the arrest of this 13-year-old,” the Louisville Metro Police stated.
The police hope that this arrest may help alleviate some of the fear and embarrassment felt by Fletcher after such a distressing experience.
Despite everything, Fletcher remains resolute, insisting she won’t let this incident change her way of life. “I’ve lived here for 55 years and have never had any issues. I’m not going to be afraid to be here on the porch,” she said firmly.
