Young mother ejected from boat leaves behind heartbroken husband and four children after tragedy in Alabama waters

Tragic Boat Accident Claims Young Alabama Mother

A family in Alabama is mourning the loss of 27-year-old Britney Sherman after a horrific boating accident.

On June 15, Britney was on a boat with her husband, Cody Sherman, 30, and their four children at Bayou Sarah near Saraland, Mobile County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) confirmed that the collision happened at approximately 5:50 PM, involving two boats: a 20-foot vessel and the 26-foot boat that the Sherman family was on.

Reports indicate that Britney was thrown from the boat due to the force of the crash.

Although emergency crews arrived quickly, efforts to locate Britney were hindered by the murky waters, making the search particularly challenging.

On Monday morning, rescue teams resumed their search. At around 10:50 AM, they found Britney’s body approximately 100 yards from where she had entered the water.

Two other passengers from the other boat suffered minor injuries. Cody was taken to a local hospital for treatment, and one of the children required medical care as well.

Thankfully, the operator of the 20-foot boat was unharmed, as was the captain of the other vessel.

The ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division is currently investigating the incident, but no charges have been filed yet. The Mobile County Medical Examiner’s Office has also been contacted for further information.

Cody, grieving for his wife, expressed his deep love for Britney and the emotional weight of raising their children alone. He shared a heartfelt message: “Britney, I love you more than anything in this world. I promise to take care of these babies for you, lover! I know you’re watching over us.” He also reflected on the challenge ahead, saying, “How can I do this? I’ll do my best to make you proud. I will love you until we meet again.”
