Incendiary TikTok Video Prompts Concern Over Violence Against ICE
A TikTok video has gained significant attention, showcasing a left-wing user calling for violence against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, urging followers to “get violent” and “kill” them. This comes amid a troubling rise in confrontations against ICE, with reports of officers being targeted in various states, particularly following a deadly raid in Minneapolis where ICE agents shot and killed Renee Nicole Good.
The TikTok user, who goes by the handle monkey beans 0 and identifies with they/them pronouns, referred to ICE agents derogatorily as “mall cops” and linked their actions to the death of Good. “I’m just going to come out and say it,” they declared. “I don’t care about the consequences anymore. We have to kill these people. It is. There is no other choice.”
The user continued, dismissing any concerns about being perceived as extreme: “Oh, I think you’re really crazy, because three people died in 72 hours, and nearly 30 people have died since then.” They further criticized ICE, likening them to “the Happy Proud Boys,” and questioned why their violent actions have not been in the spotlight.
ICE agents have faced multiple assaults, including instances where their vehicles were rammed repeatedly in early January, as reported by Tricia McLaughlin, an official from the Department of Homeland Security. The same department noted a variety of violent incidents, such as a shooting at an ICE office in Dallas that led to two deaths and the gunman’s suicide, reflecting a troubling trend.
In their video, the TikTok user insisted, “The only way to stop this shit is to be violent.” They expressed frustration with peaceful protests, claiming that they are ineffective: “We’re not going to get through this holding hands. Peaceful protest only works if the enemy has a moral obligation to listen to it. They have none of it!” Their call to action concluded with an insistence on more aggressive methods, urging viewers to “burn something.”
