Child YouTuber Visits Detention Center After Protests

A YouTuber known as Rachel recently visited children at the Delaney Hall Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey, following a violent incident involving protesters against federal officers.

In an Instagram post, Rachel Accaso expressed her feelings about the situation outside the detention center. She shared a photo of herself with her children on a merry-go-round, reflecting on the emotional toll of the events from the previous day.

“I can’t emphasize enough the kindness of the children and families affected,” she wrote. “What happened is incredibly damaging and traumatic for those innocent kids, who should just be enjoying their childhood.”

Rachel suggested that if anyone spent time playing with the kids, they would understand how wrong the current circumstances are. “Playing with cars, drawing with chalk, singing, and seeing their tears—if you experienced that, you wouldn’t want what’s happening now,” she added.

She also encouraged her 5 million followers to support the New Jersey Alliance for Immigrant Justice (NJAIJ), a coalition advocating for immigrants’ rights.

This comes in the wake of protests in New Jersey, where police had to intervene after a group of rioters blocked access to Delaney Hall and clashed with law enforcement. One individual involved in the riots was charged with serious offenses, including biting a police officer and distributing child pornography.

At the same time, ICE has been actively detaining undocumented individuals convicted of serious crimes, even as calls grow among some Democrats to abolish immigration detention facilities.

Previously, Rachel stirred controversy by using her young son for a campaign supporting immigrants detained at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center in Texas. In March, she launched a petition to close that center, stating she would temporarily pause her support for the Palestinian cause to direct her efforts against President Trump and ICE.
