Zach Ertz has returned to the Philadelphia Eagles, signing with their practice squad. The 35-year-old tight end rejoins the team after Dallas Goedert sustained a sprained MCL during a close win against the Tennessee Titans. Prior to leaving in 2021, Ertz was a reliable target for the Eagles—especially on third downs. Now, having played the last two seasons with the Washington Commanders and notching 50 receptions last year, Ertz is back in familiar territory. Stashing him on the practice squad allows time for him to regain conditioning before moving to the active roster.
