Zelensky calls Trump meeting 'regrettable,' stops short of apology

Ukrainian President Voldymir Zelensky called on Tuesday to a “disappointing” gathering with President Trump and his controversial meeting at the White House last week, but stopped issuing an apology for the public explosion.

In an online post, Zelensky informs Zelensky that he is ready to come to the negotiation table to end the three-year war with Russia.

The Ukrainian president accused Trump of living in a “disinformation space” and questioned the administration's peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

On Friday, Trump followed Zelensky along with Vice President Vance, claiming he was not grateful for US military aid and that he had little leverage to reach a ceasefire with Russia.

Trump has halted signing the minerals contract and claimed that his Ukrainian counterpart is not ready to reach a peace deal. Zelensky told Fox News' Bret Baier in an interview after the meeting that he would not apologise for the repetition and repetition.

On Monday, Trump enacted a freeze on all US aid that travels to Ukraine.

Zelensky said Tuesday that his team is “ready” to work with Trump's administration to end the conflict with Moscow.

“We are ready to work quickly to end the war, with the first stage being prisoners freeing and a ceasefire in the air. Missiles, long-range drones, energy bombs, other civilian infrastructure bombs — and if Russia does the same, it's a ceasefire in the ocean right away,” Zelensky writes.

The Ukrainian leader also expressed his gratitude for the assistance provided by the US.

“We really value how much America went to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence, and we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump offered javelins to Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
