Zelensky Accuses Russia of Deliberate Attack on US Facility

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of executing a “deliberate” assault on a US-owned facility in Ukraine.

“In Mukachevo, the Russians actually incinerated an American company that produces electronics. There are no appliances, no military,” he stated.

Zelensky expressed, “I believe this is a deliberate attack on American property and investment in Ukraine.”

Flex Ltd., a Texas-based electronics manufacturer, confirmed that its Mukachevo facility sustained damage from a missile strike early Thursday, injuring “a few employees and contractors.”

Highlighting the timing, which comes shortly after Russian leaders met with President Trump in Alaska, Zelensky emphasized the importance of the attack’s timing, coinciding with his recent discussions with European leaders at the White House about moving toward a peace agreement.

“When I speak about the attack, I’m pushing for clarity as the world awaits a response from Russia regarding negotiations to end the war,” he remarked.

Zelensky referenced the potential next step proposed by Trump—a bilateral meeting between himself and Putin, followed by a trilateral meeting—including Trump—discussed in a phone call between the two leaders.

He suggested that Putin seems “to be trying to stall” the meeting aimed at ending the conflict in Ukraine.

“The signals coming from Russia right now are simply outrageous,” he said. “They seem to be stalling on meetings and show no interest in concluding this war. They’re continuing aggressive attacks against Ukraine and significant military actions along the frontline.”

Zelensky remarked that the proximity of the strikes to the NATO border was “not an accident” and reflected a “purely Russian” strategy.

“We expect a principled response from our partners,” he stated. “This war needs to conclude. We must apply pressure on Russia to end hostilities. Putin only understands force and pressure.”

He acknowledged Trump’s mediation efforts, mentioning Ukraine’s attack within Russia, adding that the US president was “absolutely right.”

Earlier this month, Trump had urged an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and threatened severe sanctions against Russia. However, following his meeting with Putin in Alaska last week, he shifted his focus toward pursuing a thorough peace settlement.
