Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to tour Western European countries seeking support for Russia as support for additional aid wanes in the United States.

Zelensky’s visit will coincide with Germany’s Munich Security Conference, but he will also visit Paris and Berlin, Bloomberg News reported. Details of Zelensky’s visit have not yet been fully determined.

He has turned his attention to Western Europe, as former President Trump opposes further military aid to Ukraine. President Trump called on Republicans to block a $95 billion aid package aimed at aiding Ukraine and Israel, the majority of which is based in Kiev.

President Trump’s move goes back to his long-standing dislike of NATO and his belief that many of its members are not paying their fair share in security. This weekend, he suggested he would allow Russia to invade countries that do not pay their full security costs.

“Nato was falling apart before I came along,” President Trump said Saturday. “I said, ‘Everyone will pay.’ They said, ‘If we don’t pay, will you protect us?’ I said, “Absolutely not.” They couldn’t believe the answer. ”

The former U.S. president said that “one of the presidents of a great power” once asked him if the United States would still defend his country if Russia invaded, even if he didn’t pay.

“No, I’m not going to protect you,” Trump recalled telling the country’s leader. “In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever they want to do. You have to pay. You have to pay your bills.”
