Zero Policies on Kamala Harris Website — 2 Weeks into Campaign

The official website of Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has no policy listings two weeks after she entered the race.

There’s a “Meet Kamala Harris” section, a “Take Action” section, a “Store” of campaign merchandise, and of course a “Donate” button. But when it comes to policy, the website is completely blank.

in addressing Speaking at her campaign headquarters last month, Harris loosely defined her campaign as a “search for a better future” and contrasted it with former President Donald Trump’s desire to “return America to its evil past.”

Our campaign has always been about two different versions of what we think about the future of our country, two different visions for the future of our country. One focused on the future, one focused on the past. Donald Trump wants to take our country back to a time before many Americans had full freedoms and rights. But we believe in a brighter future that gives room for all Americans. We believe in a future where all people have the opportunity to get ahead, not just survive.

She added a list of Democratic priorities, none of which have progressed under the current administration.

We believe in the sacred freedom of voting and are committed to fighting for the passage of the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act. We believe in the freedom to live safe from gun violence, which is why we will work to pass universal background checks, red flag laws, and assault weapons bans. We fight for reproductive freedom. We know that if Trump gets the chance, he will sign a nationwide abortion ban that would make abortion illegal in every state. [sic]But we won’t let that happen.

(President Trump has vowed not to sign national abortion legislation, instead leaving the issue to the states.)

No further information is available about Harris’s policies, although to date she has embraced some of the most left-leaning policies in the country, from Medicare for All to the Green New Deal.

Advocates and surrogates have struggled to explain her shifting stance on these issues. Sen. LaFonza Butler (D-Calif.) tell CNN reported Sunday that Harris changed her mind so often because she’s “human” and the country changes “every day.”
