Mamdani’s Scavenger Hunt Takes a Jab at Mayor Adams
Socialist Democratic mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani emerged victorious in a recent event, and he took to social media to poke fun at Mayor Adams’ leadership.
In a quirky twist, Mamdani set up a scavenger hunt for his supporters, starting with a trail of potato chips on the city sidewalk. The announcement was accompanied by a clip that captures this unusual quest.
The clip alluded to a recent controversy involving Winnie Greco, a former adviser to Adams. In a playful jab, the video featured a politician sitting on a bench, munching on a family-sized bag of sour cream and onion potato chips while teasing reporters about a stuffed bag of chips filled with cash.
Mamdani is seen in the video stating, “Hello, we have to clean it up. There’s something to hide, because in fact we’re doing a scavenger hunt.”
He shared details about “Zohran’s Summer Scavenger Hunt,” set to occur on Sunday afternoons. Participants will need to solve clues centered around New York City’s history, culminating in a special surprise at the final location.
Interestingly, disgraced former governor Andrew Cuomo, who is also running for city hall as an independent, was spotted earlier this week giving out tips to reporters.
Despite widespread backlash, Greco and her legal team have consistently maintained that the potato chip incident was merely an innocent gesture, even as critics suggested it could be seen as a potential bribe.
