On FNC's “Hannity” on Wednesday, Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, highlighted the timing of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's admission that the federal government had pressured Facebook to limit the spread of the so-called Hunter Biden laptop article ahead of the November presidential election.
Jordan speculated that the timing was intended to prevent a similar incident from happening later in the current presidential election cycle.
“Now, is it the deep state? Is our intelligence agencies, the FBI, the Department of Justice putting a cinderblock on the scales of the presidential election?” asked host Sean Hannity. “Did they tip the results in favor of Joe Biden?”
“Exactly, Sean,” Jordan responded. “That's why the timing of this letter from Mark Zuckerberg to us is so important, because we don't know what they had up their sleeve this October. What was the October surprise? What's it going to be this time? What we want to make sure is that we're not censoring information that the American people have a right to know when they're making their most important decisions. Who's going to be our commander in chief? So I want you to understand what Mark Zuckerberg wrote in his letter. He said, A, the Biden-Harris administration pressured Facebook to censor material. B, they actually censored conservative material.”
“And third, he talks about how they suppressed exactly what you were talking about with Hunter Biden. They suppressed because the government had all the leaks in advance. They met with Twitter, Facebook, all of these now major tech companies, preparing them for this,” he continued. “And fourth, and just as important, he says he's not going to do Zuckerbaxes in this election, which I appreciate. So those are the four key facts that he points out in that letter, but I think the timing is really important because we don't know what they have in store for this election. What are they going to do in October? Let's not censor the information that the American people need to know before they vote in this election.”
