50 Cent’s Stance on Tax Plans

50 Cent, the hip-hop artist also known as Curtis James Jackson III, has expressed his strong disapproval of Democrat socialist Zohran Mamdani’s tax proposals. He made a rather bold statement about wanting to pay Mamdani to leave New York.

On Instagram, he said, “Where did he come from? Who is this? I don’t feel this plan. No. I’ll give him $258,750 and a first-class, one-way trip away from New York.”

The rapper’s remarks come in response to Mamdani’s comments made earlier this month during an appearance on “The Breakfast Club.” In that interview, Mamdani discussed his intention to raise taxes on wealthy individuals and profitable companies.

“We’re talking about companies that make millions in profits, not just revenue,” Mamdani stated during the interview on June 11. He also highlighted plans to impose a tax increase on the top 1% of New Yorkers, specifically those earning over $1 million a year.

Mamdani acknowledged that he might not be on 50 Cent’s good side, suggesting that the rapper isn’t in favor of such tax policies. “This would be around $20,000 a year,” he clarified in a nationally syndicated radio show.

50 Cent, known for hits like “In Da Club” and rumored to have a net worth of close to $1 billion, appeared less than pleased, implying he doesn’t enjoy the thought of increased taxes impacting him. In fact, he jotted a comment referencing Trump, seemingly adding to the turmoil.

After defeating former official Andrew Cuomo in a surprising Democratic mayoral election, Mamdani emphasized his mission. He aims to raise funds for better public transport and support small businesses while engaging the public in a way that’s “bearing Trump.”

As of Thursday, there was no immediate response from Mamdani’s team regarding 50 Cent’s comments.
