Trump Jr. Speaks on New York’s Potential Mayor Elect
New York, New York – Donald Trump Jr., who grew up in New York City and has a firm footing in the local real estate market, recently shared his thoughts with Fox News Digital on the future of the city. Zoran Mamdani, a candidate with socialist leanings, is in the running for mayor.
“November could hold some scary surprises, and maybe that’s what New York needs,” he remarked during a conversation in the city.
Trump Jr. expressed concerns about the direction the city might take under Mamdani’s leadership, suggesting that it could lead to a broader trend of people moving from New York to Florida.
“In New York, about ten years ago, I think the number was that around 18,000 people were responsible for 80% of the city’s taxes,” he noted. “Those individuals have the freedom to relocate. So, yeah, a new mayor could really turn Florida into the place to be.”
Reflecting on his ties to New York, Trump Jr. pointed out his extensive history in the skyline changes made with his father before stepping into politics. He emphasized that the current trajectory of the city could, strangely enough, mirror broader national issues.
In a rather pointed criticism, he mentioned the potential ramifications if Mamdani falters in office. “It could trigger some serious soul-searching within the Democratic Party,” he cautioned.
President Omedi Malik, who has ties with Trump Jr. and oversees a recent business venture, compared Mamdani to former mayor Bill de Blasio, suggesting that if Mamdani doesn’t learn from de Blasio’s administration, he might be in trouble.
Mamdani gained national attention after securing the Democratic primary for mayor, promoting a platform that includes controversial views on policing and economic reform.
Trump echoed concerns about Mamdani, labeling him a “communist” and warning of drastic changes for New York if he were to succeed. “We’ve stated that we don’t want to be a socialist country, and I’ll say it again—if a communist wins in New York, things will never be the same,” he asserted.
Fox News Digital has reached out to Mamdani’s campaign for further comments.
