Trump’s Dinner Celebration at the White House

During a celebratory dinner at the White House, attended by Donald Trump’s GOP allies and several members of Congress, the president announced that “10 more hostages in Gaza would be coming soon.” The evening primarily centered around highlighting Republican achievements over the past six months, though Trump took a moment to discuss the hostages and commend the administration’s foreign policy efforts.

“Gaza – we have most of the hostages back,” Trump stated, referring to the situation in the Middle East. “We’re going to have another 10 soon, and we hope it ends pretty quickly,” he added.

So far, the U.S. has successfully brought home five American hostages taken by Hamas, three of whom are alive. However, two Americans, along with other non-Americans, are still being held captive.

On Friday night, Trump’s speeches received significant praise from Congressional Republicans for their role in passing substantial legislation. He expressed gratitude towards several key figures, including Senate Majority Leader John Tune, House Speaker Mike Johnson, and others for their efforts.

“No one has done it that fast,” Trump remarked. “You stayed in for 10 weeks of consecutive sessions, the longest in the Senate in 15 years, and you secured over 400 votes.” He noted the remarkable success they had achieved together.

The president also commended Republicans for their work on immigration, border security, foreign diplomacy, and swift cabinet nominations, particularly spotlighting the contributions of Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff.

Trump didn’t specify a date for signing the GOP bill but mentioned that “many other rebates are approaching, adding another $10 billion.”

Looking ahead, Trump optimistically suggested that the GOP majority in both the House and Senate would strengthen in 2026. He acknowledged the conventional belief that a party that wins the presidency usually faces challenges in the following midterms.

“When you win the presidency, you don’t usually understand why you end up losing ground,” he said to the dinner guests. “Based on our success, we should do great things.” He also claimed that “most administrations achieve more in six months than others do in eight years,” emphasizing that there is still time to deliver on their promises.

As the evening concluded, Trump expressed confidence that “Americans are on our side as long as we keep our promises to our voters.”
