ICE Offers Incentives for Former Agents to Return
The Trump administration is reportedly providing a re-employment bonus of up to $50,000 for former ICE agents who decide to come back. During the previous administration, many agents and officers chose to leave amid significant turbulence.
“You have served the United States with distinction and honor. Now your country calls you to serve again,” states a recent communication. “By rejoining ICE, you will offer essential and honorable services to our nation.”
This incentive is funded through the recent One Big Beautiful Bill Act (BBB).
ICE is offering a $10,000 signing bonus for those returning to service. There’s also an additional $10,000 available for applications submitted by August 1st. Plus, you can earn a further $10,000 each year for up to three years for participating in operation recoveries.
Returning employees may retain their pension benefits if they return to active duty.
The BBB has allocated an extra $750 billion to ICE in support of the ongoing expanded deportation operations across the country.
During the BBB’s signing ceremony, Trump mentioned that this bill would allow ICE to “significantly” increase its workforce, beginning with efforts to bring back former agents.
A dedicated “Return to Mission” website aims to assist former employees with information regarding their reemployment.
The website emphasizes that, “your country is calling upon you. Due to the challenging immigration policies of past administrations, ICE agents are currently facing unprecedented difficulties. Your role is vital in securing our communities and upholding our laws.”
This offer extends to deportation enforcement, removal operations, and homeland security investigative roles.
Additional information about the bonuses and compensation packages can be found in the Q&A section of the website.
