Kentucky Senate Candidate Attacks Immigration Views of Rivals

Nate Morris, a businessman from Kentucky and a Republican candidate for the Senate, has voiced strong criticism regarding his competitor, Andy Barr. He asserts that Barr employs tactics similar to Hillary Clinton’s by labeling Republicans who aim to restrict legal immigration as “nativists.”

During a recent discussion, Morris highlighted concerns about Barr’s stance on immigration, particularly in relation to the agricultural and hospitality industries in Kentucky. These sectors, he argues, rely heavily on legal workers. “Some of these so-called ‘nativists’ contradict the needs of our agricultural sector. We pride ourselves on being a nation of immigrants, but we also have laws to uphold,” Barr stated.

Morris expressed discontent with Barr’s rhetoric, recalling Clinton’s use of the term “basket of deplorables” in 2016. “It seems we’re hearing the same tired phrases again,” he remarked.

This week, Morris has unveiled a new advertisement that contrasts his immigration policies with those of Barr and former Attorney General Daniel Cameron. He intends to showcase his opponents alongside Mitch McConnell, accusing the senator of repeatedly supporting controversial pardons throughout his career.

Morris emphasized the importance of maintaining strong borders and ensuring the deportation of illegal migrants. He suggested a moratorium on new immigration, stating, “I am calling for a complete halt on new immigration until we’ve deported every single individual connected to Joe Biden’s administration that has resided in the country over the past four years.”
