Border Patrol Arrests 11 Illegal Immigrants in Sacramento

Last week, Border Patrol reported the apprehension of 11 illegal immigrants at a Home Depot in Sacramento, California. Among those detained, five individuals had prior criminal records.

According to officials, records indicated that three of the detained migrants had a history of felony convictions. One of the arrested individuals, Javier Dimas Alcantar, is noted to have a significant criminal background, including serious offenses related to drug trafficking and robbery.

Dimas’s charges reportedly involved transporting and selling controlled substances, along with felony-level marijuana possession and carrying firearms unlawfully. In light of the arrests, Tricia McLaughlin, a spokesperson for Homeland Security, criticized California’s sanctuary policies, suggesting they protect those who pose a threat to public safety.

“This individual has a troubling record. I mean, who would want someone like him in their neighborhood?” McLaughlin remarked, pointing out that Governor Gavin Newsom appears to champion policies that aid criminals while undermining law enforcement efforts.

Another detainee, Carlos Mata, also a Mexican national and convicted felon, allegedly attempted to evade arrest and was involved in a violent incident at the store. He reportedly assaulted several people and even urged someone to call 911 in the chaos.

In addition to Dimas and Mata, law enforcement apprehended other immigrants, including a Guatemalan felon who had been previously deported. Despite past run-ins with the law, this individual faced new charges for trespassing and not having proper identification.
