Mike Johnson Commemorates Biden's Withdrawal Anniversary With 14-Minute Video Of Democrats Claiming He Was In Great Shape

Mike Johnson Reflects on Biden’s Campaign Withdrawal Anniversary

On Monday, Speaker Mike Johnson marked the one-year anniversary of former President Joe Biden’s exit from the 2024 presidential race. He shared a 14-minute montage on social media that asserted Biden’s mental fitness.

Biden officially halted his reelection campaign on July 21, 2024, following what many described as a challenging performance in the June 27 debate. Critics noted Biden’s frequent stumbles while speaking, but Democratic leaders have repeatedly refuted claims regarding his mental acuity.

In his post, Johnson highlighted, “A year ago today, President Biden’s disastrous debate performance ended his reelection campaign, revealing the biggest political cover-up in US history.” He also emphasized the ongoing investigations by House Republicans, urging Americans to remember the efforts to obscure the truth about Biden’s mental state. “There’s just a small portion of the receipt here,” he added.

The montage included comments from various Democratic figures, asserting Biden was “at the top of his game.” It featured former Biden campaign co-chair Mitchland Liu, former Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi, all echoing sentiments of Biden’s competence.

Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren commented in April, “He was sharp. He was standing up,” reinforcing her belief in Biden’s capabilities.

Not all Democrats share the same perspective, however. In the montage, Colorado Senator Michael Bennett expressed uncertainty regarding Biden’s capacity to effectively campaign, admitting that he didn’t believe Biden was fit for reelection.

Former President Bill Clinton also alluded to Biden’s “cognitive decline” during a June appearance on “CBS Sunday Morning.” Clinton reflected on their past interactions, stating he never left a conversation thinking Biden would not be able to fulfill his duties.

The video wrapped up with Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who appeared on “Eye on Politics” in May, suggesting that even if Biden faced cognitive challenges, she would still prefer him over former President Trump, stating that he “keeps this sucker on the truck.”

A report by Special Advisor Robert Hur from February 2024 noted Biden’s mishandling of classified documents. Despite this, no charges were brought against him, attributed in part to Biden’s image as a “sympathetic and well-meaning older man.”

Additionally, CNN anchor Jake Tapper and reporter Alex Thompson co-authored a book titled “Original Sin,” which alleged that Biden’s staff and Democrats have tried to obscure the president’s decline to bolster reelection prospects.
