Joy Behar, co-host of The View, has reportedly received warnings that her show might face cancellation following her recent comments about former President Trump. During a segment, Behar and her fellow hosts discussed remarks made by former President Obama in response to allegations stemming from National Intelligence Director Tarsi Gabbard concerning the Trump-Russia controversy.
Behar questioned, “Who was trying to overthrow the government on January 6th?” She then added, “It wasn’t Obama. He’s very jealous of Obama because Obama represents everything he isn’t. And that drives Trump crazy. Green is not a good look for him.”
The former president’s office responded, stating they would release documents claiming that Obama and his National Security team manipulated intelligence reporting after Trump’s election win in 2016 against Hillary Clinton.
A spokesman from the White House reacted quickly to Behar’s unverified claims, emphasizing the need for review. “If Behar continues her attacks on Trump,” Taylor Rodgers from Fox News Digital indicated, “the show could be taken off the air.”
Critics have weighed in, labeling Behar as someone with a “severe case of Trump Mad Syndrome,” blaming her for the show’s plummeting ratings last year.
In a rebuttal shared by Entertainment Weekly, The View maintained that they achieved high viewership numbers, claiming the show ranked first in total audience among daytime talk shows for their season, suggesting continued relevance despite the criticisms.
