Gabbard Talks Media’s Role in Deep State Claims
During a segment on FNC’s “Jesse Watters Primetime” on Wednesday, National Intelligence director Tulsi Gabbard addressed what she called “crazy questions” posed by reporters at a press conference. Her discussion centered on claims regarding a deep national actor purportedly working to influence narratives about Russia and Trump, which she believes have emerged to alter the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.
Gabbard suggested to host Jesse Watters that there is a media conspiracy empowering these claims.
Watters asked for clarification on Gabbard’s mention of a deep national actor obstructing the truth. In response, she indicated that some individuals in the intelligence community are resistant to revealing vital information. “It’s not shocking. Some are connected to the creation of this narrative, while others might just be concerned about potential embarrassment,” Gabbard stated. “The questions we’ve heard in the House Press Briefing Room from certain media members seem more about deflecting and undermining the historical evidence rather than addressing it, which raises concerns about Americans’ trust in our Democratic Republic.”
She added, “The dynamic resembles that of a deep state operative trying to hinder our efforts because there are media figures involved from the very beginning. They were the ones who shared early versions of intelligence estimates concocted during the Obama administration back in January 2017,” she continued. Gabbard highlighted individuals like Ellen Nakashima from the Washington Post, suggesting their ongoing presence is indicative of persistent dishonesty aimed at the American public. “Many deep state actors remain entrenched in Washington,” she noted.
Gabbard also mentioned the creation of a strike force team by the Department of Justice, emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency with the intelligence and evidence they have gathered.
