Training camp has kicked off, and videos of practice plays—complete with interceptions—are making their rounds on social media, alongside a few injury reports already surfacing.
The NFL is back in action.
This, of course, means it’s ranking season. As we approach the first week, it’s time for everyone to share their picks for the upcoming year. We’re talking potential award winners, Super Bowl contenders, coaches on the chopping block, and everything else you can think of.
And, honestly, we could use your input.
Soon, some of the writers here at SB Nation will be putting together a list of the top five teams in training camp, and we want to hear your thoughts. Go ahead and drop your top five in the comments—let’s get the conversation going. I’ll handle the rest early next week.

I’m honestly pretty excited about what the Washington Commanders have done this offseason. They’re getting a nice boost thanks to the top teams on this list. Last year, Washington had an impressive run that brought them to the NFC Championship Game, but they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, who went on to win the division. So, Washington won’t have to face the toughest schedule this year.
Speaking of the Eagles, maybe I’m just a bit old-fashioned, but once they snag the title, I still rank them at the top.

- Philadelphia Eagles
- Baltimore Ravens
- Washington Commanders
- Buffalo Bills
- Los Angeles Chargers
Let’s discuss the Chargers for a moment. I have a feeling they could be wildcards on my list. Jim Harbaugh showed last season that his football brand remains pertinent within the NFL. Last year felt like a testing phase, but they still ended on an 11-6 note. They seem to be raising their game even more this season, and it’s not a surprise to see them poised to beat other AFC West contenders. Their free agency moves, bringing in talents like Meki Becton, Tyler Conklin, and Najee Harris, are solid. I’m particularly fond of the addition of Omarion Hampton as a running back through the draft.
As Mark pointed out, you’re only as good as the guy you beat, and right now, the Eagles are the top contenders in the NFL.

I hate to keep repeating myself, but to be the best, you need to beat the best, and the Eagles are really leading the pack right now. They boast the most talented roster in the league, and their rivals are facing a host of questions tackling both offense and defense. The Ravens are close behind; I think as we get closer to 2025, we’ll see more faith in their roster. They’re entering the second year under DC Zach Orr after a strong finish last season, with significant upgrades in the secondary. The Rams are an interesting addition here too—first, I believe Sean McVay’s dynamic play-calling is firing on all cylinders with Matthew Stafford, Puka Nakua, and Davante Adams. Despite the flashes of offensive brilliance last year, the Rams’ receiving corps was ranked 19th in yards per route run. Though Adams might not be as fast as he once was, he’s still an elite separator. And if there’s one thing to take away in the NFL, it’s that having a strong pass rush can take you a long way. The Rams have put together a formidable pass-rush group and have added DT Poona Ford to bolster their situation. I can’t wait to see how this version of the Rams performs.
