Aaron Rodgers follows a strange bathroom policy during Steelers training camp

Sharing a dorm with Aaron Rodgers comes with its quirks, including conversations about conspiracy theories and Ayahuasca, along with some strict toilet protocols.

DK Metcalf, who is now the Steelers’ quarterback, recently shared that Rodgers has established some ground rules regarding nighttime toilet usage. Apparently, they’ve had discussions about flushing—or rather, not flushing—at night.

“The toilet is really loud,” Metcalf mentioned in an interview. “He said, ‘When we go at night, don’t flush.’ I agreed, thinking, okay, that’s fair enough.”

On Wednesday night, Metcalf reached out to Rodgers around 9:30 PM, curious if he was still awake enough for a quick wash at the sink. It turns out, Rodgers hadn’t turned in yet.

Metcalf texted, “I’m trying to flush the toilet,” to which he confirmed that the no-flush rule was still in effect.

This unusual toilet rule seemed to have emerged as the Steelers began their training camp at St. Vincent University in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.

Players at the camp are housed in shared dorms, pairing a new star receiver with a seasoned quarterback.

Metcalf, recently acquired from the Seahawks, was surprised to end up with a roommate at all.

“When I heard a knock, I thought it was my bathroom door,” Metcalf recalled. “Rodgers said he thought it was me. I was like, ‘I didn’t expect to have a roommate, but hey, nice to meet you, Aaron.’”

The two seem to be building a rapport, which is crucial since Rodgers is known for being particular with his receivers.

However, their connection got off to a rocky start when Rodgers’ first pass intended for Metcalf ended up being intercepted.

“DK and I had a solid offseason together, which helped us establish a good bond,” Rodgers shared recently. “We chatted about football quite a bit and exchanged texts throughout the offseason, so I think we’re doing okay.”

While Metcalf will adapt to Rodgers’ peculiar toilet habits, it seems Rodgers is also working on comprehending Metcalf’s unique interests.
