Fashion Meets Basketball: Sophie Cunningham’s Statement Style
Sophie Cunningham, a guard for the Indiana Fever, made quite an impression before her game against the Chicago Sky on Sunday afternoon. Arriving at the United Center, she showcased a bold message on her t-shirt.
The shirt read, “Hot girls eat Irby,” paired with stylish black leather shorts that completed her eye-catching look. This isn’t the first instance where Cunningham’s gameday attire went viral. During her time with the Phoenix Mercury, she frequently turned heads with her fashion choices.
“I think it’s really cool that people are interested in what we do on the court right now,” she shared with Fox News Digital last September. “Our Tunnel Fit is like a fashion show, and it gets people excited about what we’re wearing.”
In terms of actual game performance, Cunningham started and played 31 minutes, contributing five points, two steals, and one rebound to her team’s 93-78 victory over the Sky. This win improved the Fever’s record to 14-12, with Kelsey Mitchell standing out by scoring 35 points. Unfortunately, the Fever had to manage without Caitlyn Clark, who is sidelined due to injuries, and there’s currently no timeline for her return.
As the Fever sits in the middle of the league standings, one game behind the Seattle Storm, the excitement around their performances – both on and off the court – continues to rise.
