Ex-Trump advisor Hope Hicks becomes part of Megyn Kelly's media business

Hope Hicks, a former senior aide to President Trump, is teaming up with Megyn Kelly to enhance their emerging media business. Hicks, at 36, will step into the role of Chief Operating Officer for Kelly’s Devil May Care Media starting Monday. This includes overseeing “AM Update with Megyn Kelly” and the “Megyn Kelly Show,” along with the recently launched MK Media, which features a variety of shows from journalists and creators.

Kelly expressed her enthusiasm in a statement, describing Hicks as a capable collaborator—smart, strategic, and someone who embodies both class and calm. She noted that Hicks is at the helm of an expanding media group, and the potential for growth is limitless. The business team is thrilled to welcome her.

Hicks will report directly to Kelly, focusing on business development for the venture, which was established in 2020 by Kelly, a prominent figure in conservative media.

In her comments, Hicks acknowledged Kelly’s unparalleled ability to create unique content that stands out. She shared her excitement about joining Kelly and the team, expressing a sense of humility in contributing to a thriving business.

The “Megyn Kelly Show” originally started as an audio podcast in September 2020 and transitioned into a live daily radio show in partnership with SiriusXM in 2021, expanding to include video content. Currently, it’s recognized as one of the most popular independent shows in the U.S., ranking highly on both Apple and Spotify podcast charts, with a YouTube channel boasting over 3.7 million subscribers.

The show’s reach is impressive, garnering hundreds of millions of views each month across various platforms. It also has millions of followers on social media sites like Instagram and TikTok.

In March, MK Media was announced, which will introduce new shows, including one hosted by journalist Mark Halperin and Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan, a former Post writer. They’re also planning to launch a true crime channel soon.

Hicks, who previously worked for the Trump Organization and served as a press secretary during Trump’s first campaign in 2016, has spent the last four years running her own media consulting firm. She became White House Communications Director after Trump’s significant win in 2016, later becoming one of his closest advisors. After resigning in 2018, she returned in 2020 as a counselor to the president until 2021.

During her time in the White House, Hicks also took on a role as Executive Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at Fox Corporation.

Kelly came to know Hicks during the 2016 presidential campaign. Kelly moderated a GOP debate and prominently challenged Trump on his past remarks about women, which led to a heated exchange. Despite the tension, Kelly has expressed support for Trump’s potential return to the White House.

She recently discussed with Stephen A. Smith on his SiriusXM show how she manages to set aside her personal feelings about Trump while continuing to support him.
