Russia claims 22 lives in Ukraine despite Trump’s warnings

Russia kills 22 in Ukraine despite Trump threats

Russia’s attacks continue to escalate, resulting in the deaths of at least 22 individuals as ballistic missiles and glide bombs target various cities. This strikes amid President Trump’s sanctions and a looming possibility of accelerating negotiations for a ceasefire from Moscow.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reported that 73 locations, including hospitals in Kamiyanske and correctional facilities in the Zaporozhzhia region, were hit overnight by Russian forces.

Zelensky noted that the municipal hospital in Kamianke was attacked, with three fatalities confirmed, one being a pregnant woman.

“Late yesterday, around midnight, a Russian aircraft dropped a bomb on the Correctional Colony in the Zaporozhzhia region,” Zelensky stated on Tuesday morning via a post on Social Media Platform X.

He emphasized that this attack seemed deliberate rather than accidental. “The Russians likely weren’t aware that civilians were present at the facility,” he remarked, adding, “Many lost their lives, and 43 others sustained injuries, some quite severe.”

During a visit to Scotland, Trump informed the media that he plans to advance his timeline for implementing sanctions against Russia “from about 10 or 12 days from today,” expressing doubt about progress in the situation.

“You see bodies lying in the streets, and I think that’s no way to handle things. We’ll see how it all unfolds. I am quite disappointed—disappointed with President Putin,” Trump stated while alongside British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

In response to Trump’s comments, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov indicated that they “noted” the president’s statements.

Peskov affirmed, “We remain dedicated to the peace process aimed at resolving the conflict over Ukraine and ensuring a beneficial settlement process,” as reported on Tuesday.

Earlier in July, Trump announced plans for “severe” tariffs on Russia if a ceasefire with Ukraine isn’t reached within 50 days. He also hinted at potential 100% “secondary” tariffs and actions against nations conducting business with Russia.
