Authorities Step In as Man with Knife Approaches Ray Comfort's Ministry

Evangelist Ray Comfort Grateful After Security Scare

Evangelist Ray Comfort expressed gratitude for the safety of his wife, Sue, and his staff following a disturbing incident involving a break-in. Last week, a man, armed with a knife, attempted to invade the ministry’s warehouse. Comfort recounted that one of the executive staff was in the parking lot, staring at his vehicle, when he noticed someone trying to break in. It was around July 20th, and although the damage was done, the perpetrator couldn’t access the car.

Sue was taken aback after viewing the surveillance video of the event.

“A man in a hoodie approached the property, climbed onto the roof, and checked the door,” Comfort explained. “When he found it locked, he came back down, tried to force his way into the car, and eventually wandered into one of the warehouse garages, raw under the door.”

Comfort’s team promptly called the police when the man barricaded himself inside the warehouse. The scene, according to the evangelist, was eerily reminiscent of a movie.

Authorities managed to arrest the suspect, who was then taken to a nearby hospital. Reflecting on that day, Comfort described it as a “provisional” moment, noting that it was unusual for Sue not to be at the warehouse preparing for the weekend.

“It’s rare for her to miss the ministry,” he commented. “We’re thankful for her decision to stay home.”

The suspect’s motivations remain unclear, though police have indicated that drugs may have played a role. Comfort remarked that while such events can understandably evoke fear, they also serve as reminders to reflect on God’s purpose.

“The Bible teaches that my steps are directed by the Lord,” he stated. “As long as I commit my path to God, I believe I’ll always be in the right place at the right time.”

“No matter what happens, it will work out for my good – that’s the promise of Romans 8:28. That gives me strong comfort each day.”
