Harry Enten Calls Trump the Most Influential President of the Century

CNN analyst Harry Enten recently highlighted significant changes in areas like tariffs and immigration, declaring President Trump “the most influential president of the century.”

Enten stated that Trump’s influence is of “historic magnitude,” emphasizing, “We can’t think of a more influential president in the course of this century.” He mentioned during a weekend segment on CNN that Trump is actively “rebuilding the United States.”

Last year, the tariff rate in the U.S. rose sharply from 2% to approximately 18%, marking the highest rate since the 1930s, according to Enten.

In terms of immigration, he observed that net migration to the U.S. has seemingly decreased by at least 60% from 2.8 million. “There’s a possibility of a negative net migration trend in 2025,” Enten added, noting it would be the first such instance in around 50 years.

Enten pointed out, “Trump has consistently focused on tariffs and takes a hardline stance on immigration. Both of these issues show record levels this century.” He acknowledged the critical measures taken at the U.S.-Mexico border and the enforcement of immigration laws.

Furthermore, Enten referred to Trump’s prolific use of executive orders, mentioning he signed 180 in the first half of his second term, a figure that surpasses all previous presidents since Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Interestingly, Trump shares the distinction with Grover Cleveland as one of only two presidents to have served two non-consecutive terms.
