BAF and Musk’s Support for Trump’s Legislative Agenda
Building Future (BAF), a political action committee backed by billionaire Elon Musk, has invested over $1 million to promote the passage of the president’s “one big beautiful bill act,” which Musk has openly criticized, as reported by Politico on Monday.
The group’s advertisements, titled “Independence,” launched on Fox News and celebrate President Donald Trump’s signing of the law on July 4th. The ads highlight the Family Tax Cuts Act, emphasizing benefits like reduced taxes for working families, increased child tax credits, and overtime pay. There’s a sense of pride in saying that Republicans believe the country is stronger when families retain more of their earnings.
The ad states, “On this Independence Day, President Trump and Congress have implemented Family Tax Cuts Act.” It continues to underline the significance of the tax relief measures introduced, implying that there’s a broad acknowledgment of their positive impact on American families.
A month ago, House Republicans passed one big beautiful bill, delivering it as follows:
The biggest tax cut in history
borderThe largest single investment in border security and national defense
usThe biggest spending cut in US historyA real, positive outcome…
Musk has previously referred to Trump’s extensive tax and immigration initiatives as “outrageous” and vehemently opposed them. Just last month, he pledged to financially support challengers to Republican lawmakers who endorsed the bill.
Moreover, Musk announced on July 5th that he was establishing a new political party called the “American Party,” following the passage of Trump’s substantial spending bill. On July 6, Trump described Musk’s initiative as “silly,” remarking that forming a third party could further complicate the political landscape.
“President Trump, Senate Majority Leader John Tune, and House Speaker Mike Johnson showed remarkable strength and vision in delivering a historic tax cut for working families this summer,” a senior advisor shared with Politico.
