Trump More Popular Than UK Prime Minister Kiel, New Polls Reveal

Recent polling data indicates that US President Donald Trump has surpassed UK Prime Minister Kiel Starmer in popularity. This comes amid ongoing struggles for the Left Labour government, as highlighted by the polls released by Freshwater Strategy.

During President Trump’s visit to Scotland—specifically, the hometown of his ancestors—he hosted British officials at the Turnberry Golf Resort. The fresh polling shows a 26% favorable view of Trump among British citizens. While still below favorable territory, it’s a notable nine-point increase compared to last month.

Interestingly, the same polls reveal Trump enjoys more support than both Starmer and Conservative leader Kemi Badenok. Research indicates that Starmer has only a 23% favorable rating among his constituents, with a staggering 60% expressing discomfort. Badenok is only slightly ahead, with a favorability rating of 24%.

Among prominent British politicians, Trump’s only notable ally appears to be Brexit advocate Nigel Farage.

Farage’s Reform Party is showing promising numbers in polls and is widely viewed as a potential future ruling party in the UK, especially given the current struggles of the Conservative Party and the Labour Party’s failure to address pressing issues like immigration and the economy since last year’s elections.

Further polling from BMG Research over the weekend indicates that Farage’s party has risen to 32%, a positive two-point increase in the last month. This shift predicts a favorable outcome for populist parties in future electoral scenarios.

In contrast, the Labour Party has seen a significant drop, plummeting four points to a concerning 23% during the same time frame.

During a recent meeting with the Prime Minister at Turnberry, Trump offered unsolicited political advice, emphasizing that tax cuts, decreased energy prices, border security, and avoidance of foreign conflicts are crucial for electoral success. His comments likely struck a nerve, especially since the current government has pursued tax increases and costly green initiatives while dealing with record illegal immigration.
