Washington ICE Facility Targeted in Possible Arson Incident

Recent Attacks on ICE Officers and Facilities

Incidents involving radical anti-immigration activists targeting U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and their facilities continue to escalate. Most recently, on Saturday, the Yakima field office suffered damage from individuals throwing rocks, with some parts of the compound reportedly set on fire.

A video shared by Bovino on X (formerly Twitter) showcased the Border Patrol’s Bortac Special Operations Group swiftly apprehending a suspect who allegedly spat on an agent during a deportation operation in Los Angeles.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), fortunately, no federal agents or officials sustained injuries during the attack. An official from DHS mentioned on social media that, “On Saturday, rioters threw rocks through the windows of a building housing ICE sub-offices. There was also a small fire behind the building, which is currently under investigation by local authorities.”

The DHS post emphasized Secretary Christy Noem’s commitment to prosecuting anyone who poses harm to law enforcement. As reported, attacks on ICE officials have increased, with figures from the Department of Homeland Security revealing a rise compared to the same time last year.

Breitbart Texas noted that the Trump administration is intensifying efforts to address these assaults, with multiple arrests made of individuals involved in attacks against federal agents enforcing immigration policies nationwide.

Gregory K. Bovino, the chief of the El Centro Border Patrol Division, spoke on these developments. In a separate recent case, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Oregon announced the arrest of a Portland man accused of various crimes during a violent protest outside the ICE office in South Portland.

Twenty-four-year-old Robert Jacob Hoops faced felony charges, including aggravated assault of a federal officer with a dangerous weapon and damaging federal property exceeding $1,000. Court documents indicate that during a protest on June 14, 2025, Hoops allegedly threw a large rock at the ICE building and struck an officer in the head.

In another widely reported incident, two clinic workers were arrested in Los Angeles for assaulting an ICE agent on July 25. According to prosecutors, Jose de Jesus Ortega and Daniel Nadine Davira are facing charges of assaulting federal officers and conspiring to obstruct their duties.
