Brooke Hogan, the daughter of the late wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, is seeking clarity regarding her father’s death from a heart attack on July 24, at the age of 71.
In an Instagram story shared on Thursday, Brooke expressed her willingness to cover the costs of an autopsy due to lingering uncertainties surrounding his passing. She mentioned, following comments from his wife, Sky Daily, that the family had not yet proceeded with cremation while they sought answers about his medical care.
“It’s good to see my dad still with us and that the family is looking into this,” Brooke noted.
“If speculation around my father’s death helps find answers, I would like to offer to fund the autopsy. My dad’s legacy and dignity deserve that,” she added.
Hulk Hogan, whose real name was Terry Borea, was laid to rest in a private funeral in Clearwater, Florida on Tuesday.
Sky revealed in an Instagram post that “Terry had opted for cremation, understanding that life is temporary while our spiritual essence is eternal.” She also clarified that they hadn’t yet honored his wishes, as they wanted all medical queries resolved first. “Once we achieve peace of mind, we will fulfill his wishes with love and respect,” she stated.
Sky cautioned against misinformation surrounding Hulk’s death, attributing some of it to “faceless AI accounts or people who aren’t truly in the know.”
According to records from the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center, Hogan died of a heart attack.
The cremation approval documents indicate that his death was classified as natural. Previous medical records also mentioned that Hogan had battled leukemia and atrial fibrillation.
Sky described the situation as “sudden” in an Instagram post, the day after Hulk was rushed to Clearwater Hospital where he later passed.
Reports surfaced from Hogan’s former best friend, Bubba the Love Sponge, indicating that the wrestling icon had been in the ICU since mid-June, nearing the end of his life.
The friendship between Bubba and Hulk soured after a sex tape scandal involving Bubba’s then-wife, Heather.
On Wednesday, Brooke revealed that she had been estranged from her father for two years and had threatened legal action against Hulk’s representatives for allegedly misrepresenting her in the media.
Brooke mentioned her struggles against “false claims” made about her, particularly surrounding her father’s health issues that captured public attention this summer, complicating her personal life.
Since news of Hulk’s death broke, Brooke has responded to incorrect reports about her relationship with her father’s recent wife, Sky, which alleged a lack of attempts at reconciliation before his passing.
She discussed her absence at his funeral and shared that she chose to celebrate his life with her husband, Steve Oleski, and their young twins.
“Dad was never fond of funerals,” she shared, posting family beach snapshots on Instagram. “He wouldn’t have wanted that. While I understand people are grieving, I’m truly grateful for all the celebrations to honor him. As his daughter, I felt I had to make choices to celebrate his life authentically.”
Hogan was taken from his home in Clearwater by ambulance due to cardiac arrest and passed away in the hospital.
Earlier this week, Brooke spoke with Bubba about removing herself from her father’s will to avoid financial disputes with family members.
Hogan and his ex-wife, Linda, are the parents of Brooke and his son, Nick.
