Tammy Bruce chosen by Trump for UN position as State Department spokesperson

On Saturday, former President Donald Trump announced his intention to nominate Tammy Bruce, the spokesperson for the U.S. State Department, as the next ambassador to the United Nations. He expressed his satisfaction with this decision on social media, highlighting her as a “great patriot” and a best-selling author.

Trump praised Bruce for her significant contributions as a spokesperson since the beginning of his second term, emphasizing her effectiveness as a representative for the country at the UN. He offered his congratulations to her on this new appointment.

Bruce has been a staunch defender of the Trump administration’s stances on various issues, including immigration and international conflicts, notably in Ukraine and Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Senate is on break, leaving Trump’s backlog of over 150 confirmation appointments unresolved.

Last week, Bruce made headlines by warning Russia on television about adhering to a ceasefire agreement with Trump. She has had a lengthy career in politics, having been a conservative commentator and Fox News contributor prior to her role in the State Department.

Trump previously referred to her as a respected political analyst who grasped the significance of the “MAGA” movement early on. Currently, Dorothy Shea is serving as the acting ambassador following her tenure in that position last year, while another Trump candidate, Mike Waltz, remains pending confirmation for the ambassadorship.
