Vice President JD Vance has accused the Biden administration of withholding documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, suggesting a connection with financial figures tied to the Democratic Party.
“It’s clear Epstein had ties to various left-leaning politicians and wealthy individuals,” he stated. “Democrat billionaires and political leaders often visited Epstein Island.”
He expressed skepticism regarding Democrats’ newfound interest in Epstein’s files, stating, “For four years, Joe Biden and his party have done nothing regarding this matter.”
The Epstein situation remains a source of political tension for the Trump administration, as the White House faces calls to release files that the president pledged to reveal during his campaign. Trump and his supporters maintain that they are acting transparently throughout this process.
Attorney General Pam Bondy has demanded the testimony of Epstein’s former associates, including Ghislaine Maxwell.
Reports indicate that the Department of Justice informed President Trump in May that his name was mentioned several times in the documents. Allegedly, Senator Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) urged FBI agents to highlight the president’s name within the files.
“Currently, Trump is advocating for total transparency, yet Democrats seem to be targeting him instead of holding the Biden administration accountable,” Vance remarked on Sunday.
James Kommer (R-KY), chair of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, has summoned several prominent former officials, including ex-President Clinton and the former Secretary of State, to assist the DOJ in this investigation.
This occurred after the House Supervisory Subcommittee voted in a bipartisan manner to compel the DOJ to hand over all materials related to Epstein.
Additionally, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has met with Maxwell on two occasions, but no audio or written records from those meetings have been disclosed.
Vance reiterated his support for Trump, stating, “The president has made it clear that we’re not concealing anything,” in July.
