Physical Assault at Polk County Store

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to an incident at the Seven Star Store on Old Highway 37 in Bradley on the evening of August 3. The call was regarding a physical altercation involving store employees.

Upon arrival, the first responders found an adult male victim suffering from significant bleeding above his right eye.

Investigators revealed that the suspect had entered the store along with two companions. He confronted the victim, accusing him of “glaring.” The victim suggested that the suspect gather his items and leave, a suggestion that didn’t sit well with the suspect.

Following their exchange, which escalated in volume, the suspect hurled two unopened bottles of soda at the victim, striking him on the head. The impact caused the victim to lose consciousness, after which the suspect and his friends fled the scene.

Footage from the incident captures the suspect shouting, “You wouldn’t do it to me, boy!” while physically assaulting store employees.

The suspect has been identified as Terry Lamar Johnson Jr., 30, from Mulberry. An arrest warrant has been issued for him on charges of felony battery.

While Johnson has not been arrested for this specific incident, authorities mentioned that he was taken into custody in May for unrelated offenses, including possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license. His record also includes prior charges for grand theft, aggravated assault, battery, and numerous weapon violations.

Officials are urging anyone with information on Johnson’s whereabouts to contact the sheriff’s office at 863-297-1100. Those wishing to remain anonymous can reach out to Heartland Crime Stoppers through various means.
