Video captures Democratic candidate for South Carolina governor being arrested in his underwear while claiming to be God and Superman

Recently released dashcam footage reveals a peculiar incident involving a Democratic gubernatorial candidate in South Carolina. William “Mullins” McLeod, a 53-year-old married father of four, is facing pressure from his party to withdraw from the governor’s race after this video surfaced, just days after his strange arrest.

The arrest occurred in downtown Charleston, where police noted behavior consistent with someone under the influence of meth. He reportedly shouted loudly and reacted dramatically to the situation.

In the video, McLeod bizarrely refuses to disclose his name, instead proclaiming himself as God and Superman, and even threatens to physically harm his opponent. He seemed to enter a tangent about being a “legitimate” person in the eyes of the law.

Upon his arrest, he was heard using racial slurs and stubbornly refused to exit the police vehicle, insisting that he preferred to sleep there instead. Law enforcement later reported his eyes appeared quite bloodshot and dilated, aligning with typical signs of meth use.

McLeod’s party, currently without any other candidates for the nomination, is urging him to reconsider his campaign, citing concerns about his mental and emotional health following the release of the footage. Christol Spain, chairman of the South Carolina Democrats, emphasized the need for compassion and support in light of the troubling events.

While McLeod’s campaign team labeled the arrest as “illegal,” they did not comment on his current situation. In a recent interview, McLeod asked voters for grace, suggesting the truth around his arrest would demonstrate his necessity for the governorship.
