DHS Unveils New ICE Vehicles Amid Increased Law Enforcement Activity
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) introduced a freshly branded fleet of immigration and customs enforcement vehicles on Thursday. According to a post on DHS’s official X account, “We’re bringing back our country.”
This launch was showcased in a slickly produced video on DHS’s social media, coinciding with a government initiative to bolster law enforcement in Washington, D.C., following President Donald Trump’s recent intensified crackdown.
Traditionally, DHS agents have operated in plain clothes, but this move marks a shift toward a more visible presence.
According to DHS, over 100,000 Americans are rushing to apply for jobs within the Trump administration’s ICE initiative nationwide.
In the video, which has garnered nearly 200,000 views within hours, the new vehicles are shown passing by iconic landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial, the Capitol, and the White House. The navy blue SUV and pickup trucks are adorned with bold red and gold stripes and large “ICE” lettering. A slogan, “protecting your hometown,” is featured prominently along with “President Donald J. Trump” embossed in gold on the rear.
The soundtrack includes Dababy’s “TOES,” which features lyrics that resonate with the theme of coldness and ice. This video also includes a recruitment link to join.ice.gov.
The Trump administration has rolled out significant recruitment campaigns offering hefty bonuses to attract new ICE personnel.
On August 14, 2025, images of the new GMC SUVs showcased their placement near the Lincoln Memorial. According to ICE’s recruitment platform, new employees will receive a full federal benefits package, including competitive salaries, healthcare, paid holidays, and various financial incentives such as tuition reimbursement and transportation subsidies.
The fleet’s launch aligns with a noticeable upswing in federal law enforcement presence throughout the capital, with President Trump temporarily overseeing the local police department for an additional 30 days. Reports indicate that agents from the Drug Enforcement Agency, the FBI, and the National Guard are now supporting the Metropolitan Police Department in various patrols and checkpoints.
According to a fact sheet from DHS Executive Director Kristi Noem, this rollout reflects a more extensive enforcement strategy during the administration’s first 200 days, noting a significant decline in border encounters and a resurgence in job applications following the “Advocacy of Hometown” campaign. The department has also reopened local offices for victims of immigration crimes, leading to over 352,000 arrests since January.
While the Republican committees in the House and Senate did not respond to inquiries, the general response to the DHS video was mostly positive, particularly among veterans and law enforcement supporters. One comment read, “Please continue doing your amazing job, thank you for protecting us.”
