Woman Charged After Threatening President Trump

A woman is facing federal charges after allegedly threatening to kill President Trump in unsettling social media posts and during discussions with the Secret Service.

Natalie Rose Jones, 50, was taken into custody on Saturday after making threats on Facebook and Instagram. She had traveled from New York to Washington, D.C. According to U.S. Attorney Janine Pillo, Jones expressed a desire to “eliminate” Trump if she got the chance.

Prosecutors noted Jones stated, “I want to sacrifice this Potas and kill him by dismantling him and cutting out all the affirmations and his trachea.” It’s quite a violent declaration, really.

The day after her message to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegges, she reportedly urged him on Facebook, asking for “the arrest and removal ceremony of Potus Trump as an American terrorist” to be scheduled for August 16th, 2025.

The Secret Service had been aware of Jones’s social media activities since August 2nd and arranged to interview her the day after her post directed at Hegges. During a voluntary interview with the Secret Service on August 15, Jones indicated that if given the opportunity, she would “perform” her “mission to kill” the president using “compounds” and “bladed objects.”

In her conversations, she referred to Trump as a “terrorist” and a “Nazi.” The following day, she was arrested after taking part in a protest near the White House.

The Secret Service concluded that she posed a significant threat to Trump. Even so, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office, Jones denied having a “current desire” to harm him.

“Threatening a president’s life is among the most serious offenses and warrants immediate and firm prosecution,” Pillo remarked in a statement.

She cautioned, “Make no mistake—justice will be served.”

Jones, originally from Lafayette, Indiana, faces charges in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., for making threats that could cause physical harm to the president, as well as threats involving interstate commercial communications.

The White House has not yet responded to requests for comment.
