Inconsistencies Emerge in Baby Kidnapping Case in Southern California

A heartbreaking situation regarding a supposed baby kidnapping in Southern California has taken an unexpected turn after police brought light to discrepancies in the woman’s account of events.

During a tearful video report aired on KABC-TV, Rebecca Haro, alongside her husband Jake, called for assistance in locating their seven-month-old son, Emmanuel Haro. She claimed that while changing diapers in a parking lot in Yucaipa on Thursday, she was knocked unconscious by someone, and upon waking, her baby was missing.

“Nothing feels right in this whole scenario,” she expressed, conveying her distress. According to her, she heard the assailant say “Hora” just before losing consciousness.

However, the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department noted that contradictions appeared during their interview with Rebecca. They had responded to the scene around 7:47 PM but expressed uncertainty about possible foul play. After confronting her with the inconsistencies, police mentioned that she ceased communication with them.

The couple’s home in Cabazon was later visited by law enforcement officials, and reports indicated that their two-year-old daughter was removed by Riverside Child Protection Services.

The National Child Advocacy Group had initially offered to coordinate searches and provide $5,000 in rewards for the baby’s return. However, these efforts were halted when the mother stopped cooperating with law enforcement.

“This situation is deeply troubling,” remarked Daniel Chapin, founder of the Uvalde Foundation for Kids. “We remain hopeful that law enforcement will keep pursuing the case, aiming to locate this precious child and ensure their safety.”

As the investigation proceeds, police have yet to identify potential suspects or vehicles involved.

Yucaipa is a city with around 54,000 residents, located approximately 70 miles east of Los Angeles.
