Trump’s Approval Ratings Rise After Meeting with Putin
Recent opinion polls indicate that President Donald Trump’s approval ratings have surged following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska. This meeting, held on August 15th, aimed at addressing the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, while U.S. officials continue seeking ways to curb the violence.
A poll published on Monday revealed that Trump’s approval rating climbed to 54%, with disapproval at 43.6%. The survey was carried out between August 15th and 17th and included responses from 1,000 voters. Notably, there was a ±3.09% error margin, marking a slight increase from the previous month’s approval rating of 50%.
Much of the increased support seems to come from independents and younger voters. According to the poll, about 50.4% of independents expressed approval, while 57.3% of voters aged 18-39 and 56.5% of those aged 40-64 also showed support. In contrast, only 40.1% of respondents aged 65 and older approved of his performance.
“Today, Donald Trump sees support across nearly all age groups, except for the oldest voters. Additionally, he has made gains among African American and Hispanic voters, with approximately 64% of white voters expressing approval,” the analysis noted.
“Disapproval is primarily among the senior demographic. This aligns with previous research findings. Overall, his approval numbers have markedly increased after this meeting,” the report concluded.
